On my run this morning I met the old chap on his ancient tractor with his little hat on. He smiled at me as I ran past, "Bonjour!". The time it took for the sun to climb up over the hills, was the time it took me to have a run round the fields. Olives and peaches. The hills were the same colour as my trainers. Pink.

Ok, so I am still finding my way with this blog. So bear with me, if posts are flying around your ears (!) I am finding a pace and a content that works for me.

I spent the morning painting and it was soul-full. I needed that. Here are a few shots from the studio this morning.

List of great ideas!

Things I wanna do and get all excited thinking about doing!

1. A spontaneous video class where I share my techniques, thoughts and approach towards painting. And you get to see me paint!
2. A gathering (article) of 10 basic techniques and how-to's to have a fun, exciting painting day!
3. Interviews with artists who's work I love and admire, and share the interview with pictures on the blog!
4. Painting workshop "Painting My Journey" (more to come!)
5. Offer FREE desktop backgrounds and Facebook banners for people who sign up for my newsletter
6. Meditation sounds and songs for healing and creativity

I SAY: MORE OF WHAT YOU LOVE! RIGHT NOW!

I have a 100 followers on Instagram!

I really enjoy taking pictures too, and I am excited about this particular community because it's based on photo sharing. So nice. And THANK YOU! Thank you Stars, Universe and Soul! This is amazing!

Quiet Reflections

You've probably noticed that a lot more is happening on the blog now than before. I have been trying to 'work' this blog for a long time and I 've had a lot of questions and worries about it that kept me from blogging. To be truthful, I was afraid to blog. And afraid to share my thoughts. I wanted someone from the outside to come and tell me that I was doing alright.
In the meantime, I wasn't blogging. I was keeping to myself. A lot of thoughts, inspiration and ideas, just kept them to myself. In the end I got SO STUCK and felt so limited that I couldn't make anything work! Not in the studio, and I couldn't open up! I was shut down, holding back all this light (which it, essentially is, right?). I felt I was no good, my ideas weren't working. My flow wasn't there.
So what happened? I wrote down my thoughts about blogging. And I realized I had a lot invested in other people approving my work! As soon as I started to connect with that person inside me who really wants to blog, I noticed there are heaps of things she wants to talk about and communicate. And it doesn't matter if other people approve. I am not doing it for them - I am doing it for me! :D

Happy Sunday everyone!

Thank you for supporting me, thank you for making this happen!

Thanks for the love and nurturance I am surrounded with!

I turn the music down to hear the rain. It's falling cross the sky in strips. Like little tiny canon balls shooting through the atmosphere. Today I cry, because life is so beautiful.
A small grey bird finds cover in the tall cyprus. He is swaying, dripping from his fur. I am looking out the window. Thunder is rolling in. In the sky clouds of light grey in banners.
The rain is making everything wet. It's dripping from the roof.
Light sounds of drumming and peaceful rhythm. Crackling in the sky. One more bird comes to take shelter in the tree, but flies away just as quickly again. Were there no more room in his coat? Flashes through my window of blue screaming light. I was going to walk home, but now I'm not so sure. Lightning just above the house. I turn the light of and shut the window. The neighbors' dog gives a short bark followed by a short whimp. I assume he wants to be let inside. The thunder is rolling past us. The dog is whimpering. A bright streak of white crashes down through the sky. Then the bang. Waiting. Another break in the sky. Then crash! Oh! Power's off! I am frightened by this power. It's Thor rolling cross the sky throwing his hammer. He is so mighty.
I can do nothing, but wait for it to pass.

The sounds fade into the background. The rain dries out slowly. I go downstairs to check the electricity.

I have decided that my blog is not only going to be about my art, but also about other artists and things in general that moves me! So here is my first post dedicated to another artist!

Today I found some amazing quilts via Facebook. These quilts are made by Hungarian Katalin Horváth - all handmade and so unique and beautiful! I am astonished by the amount of work that has gone into each and every one. I especially like her powerful animistic/shamanic designs and her use of bright, clear colours! I have a thing for rainbow colours at the moment and as you may know, a long time love for bears and wolves!

Katalin lives in the UK. She creates customized quilts and also drum cases for shamanic drums. You can find out more about Katalin Horváth on her website Dream Quilt and on Facebook; Healing Art and Art Mandalas. I kindly borrowed these images from Katalin's website. Uh, they're gorgeous.

Ok so my studio doesn't look exactly tidy today. But hey! What's a little fun if you can't mess about?! ;)

I am so ABSOLUTELY EXCITED to have my cards in Kate and Robert's Radiant Light Retreats yoga studio! Let me share with you my story with this place, and why it is so important for me to have my cards here!
I first met Kate and Robert and visited their beautiful house and the yoga studio in the summer of 2012. I had just graduated with a MA in illustration from Denmark and needed some time off to be myself. So I went to southern France to take some time to recuperate. On this particular day, the weather was beautiful (like on these pictures here), and my first time in the yoga studio was magical. I really felt embraced and loved, and the yoga and meditation we did was pure nourishment for my SOUL. It helped me remind myself of my spirituality, and the importance it has in my life.
I have visited the yoga studio many times since, and always feel a sense of peace and connection there. I have also had many wonderful visions in the room, including the vision of this painting.

I am SO delighted that my cards are allowed in this sacred space, where so much awareness, transformation and healing is taking place. It's such a loving space and so effortless to be in! THANK YOU!

Having my cards here also remind me, that I would like to sell my cards in places of LOVE and appreciation. In this space they can completely shine in the way they were intended without judgement or competition!

Robert Duddell (intuitive homeopathic healer) and Kate Marney (spiritual counsellor and guide) runs Radiant Light Retreats at their home and retreat center in the French Pyrenees, southern France. They offer "the opportunity to journey into the core of your being by stepping out of the stress and chaos of modern life into the peace of nature". Please visit their website for more information!

Working on colourful images. Again. Or still. :)

Krisztina Madarász from Hungary! Congratulations! Krisztinas story touched me deeply. Here is some of what she said about her favorite March drawing - No. 10 Rescue Dogs:

"I have never had a dog up until 2 years ago. In just two years, a part of me is absolutely changed because of this little abandoned dog. He is the green one under the sun.  I love this artwork! Colorful ink blots, and all funny dogs. Not only dogs, but I can recognize what kind of dogs. And one more thing: this drawing was made on 10th of March, this is my loved husband's birthday. This day is very special for me. And maybe if you send me this drawing, the dogs are going so, so far away. Maybe if you send your dogs so far, maybe the energy will be bigger and bigger with the distance, and maybe this energy will drive a dog to your home. "

This is a wonderful story!

Have a nice weekend everyone and thanks to ALL who have participated in the GIVE AWAY! It was a wonderful experience that I am HAPPY to do again!

This drawing is a celebration for all the communities that we find later in life, where our hearts expand and we really become and can be ourselves! To all the wonderful, spiritual, soulful (artful) and powerful communities - fælleskaber - out there! :D
Thanks for watching the Drawings of March - it has been a REAL pleasure! :D

Day 29 - Doodle. OK doesn't fully count as a drawing, but while I was doing it, I was talking to my mum on the phone. She told me that my grandmother's grandfather (my great great grandfather) died the day the Germans occupied Denmark; 9th April 1940. 44 years later I was born; on the 9th April 1984.

Getting ideas and having fun creating a new layout for my friend Marie and her website. More to come!
